The Michigan Cattleman Magazine The Michigan Cattleman is the official publication of the Michigan Cattlemen’s Association. Circulation of the quarterly magazine is approximately 3,000. The magazine serves as a communication tool for all facets of Michigan’s cattle industry including cow/calf and seed stock producers, cattle feeders, stockers, agribusinesses, the Animal Science Department of Michigan State University, MSU-Extension, state breed associations, national organizations, the Michigan beef check-off and the Michigan Cattlemen’s Association. The Michigan Cattleman is mailed the first week of the
publication month. Sending

Proofs are
furnished upon request. If
you would like a proof, please submit your materials well in advance of
the deadline. Materials are
kept for 12 months and then destroyed unless advised differently by an
advertiser or agency. Position:
Requested
positions are not guaranteed unless stated as a paid position.
Check rate schedule for inside front, inside back and back cover.
Back cover must be at least two color, cost of two color is
included on rate card, 4 color is additional.
Availability is subject to publisher approval. Advertising

Spot color is an additional $100 per color.
Full color is an additional $300 above the black and white rate. Payment:
Invoices are
prepared following the publication of the magazine.
Payment is due within 30 days from the date of the invoice.
Late payments are subject to a 1.5% monthly finance charge. Contract
Discount: Advertisers
can purchase a contract which includes 10% off the cost of four issues.
Ad copy can be changed at any time during the contract period and
ads do not have to be placed in consecutive issues.

Breed
Association Discount: Breed
associations may purchase advertising space for 350/full page and
$225/half page contract. A
one year, one page contract earns the organization four additional pages
of free editorial space. Only
two free pages (three pages total including contract page) may be used per
issue. Free pages cannot be
held over from one contract to the next.
One check from the organization must accompany a completed contract
and material to be advertised. Ad
copy can be changed at any time during the contract period and ads do not
have to be placed in consecutive issues.

is printed on sheet fed offset, four color process on 70# gloss enamel
paper using 170-line screen. Final
trim size is 8.5” x 11” with color bleed available on all sides,
saddle-stiched together. Copy:
It is important
that advertising or editorial copy submitted be as clear and legible as
possible. Typewritten copy is preferred and may be sent on disk, cd-rom or
via email. Artwork/Logos:
Must be submitted
black and white, clean and true to detail for the best possible
reproduction. 300 dpi or higher for color and grayscale and 800 dpi or
higher for line art. Scanned
images must be in CMYK for PMS color. Photos:
For best
appearance, please send original photo. All photos will be returned. Negatives:
Right reading,
emulsion side down, 133-170 line screen, send positive print. Digital
Requirements: We
will accept files on the following disk formats: Iomega Zip 100, CD-ROM or
3” floppy disk. All linked
graphics must be collected for output and included on the disk.
All fonts used in layout
must also be included on the disk along with a list of fonts used.
We will accept either Macintosh or PC file formats. PageMaker is the preferred layout program for all ad
